Biography
Dr. Lingfei Luan brings a uniquely interdisciplinary background with advanced degrees in fields ranging from Neural & Cognitive Science to Media & Communication Studies, and even Performing Arts. Her research interests are just as diverse, spanning AI, psychology, criminal behavior, and natural language processing. In her classes, Dr. Luan emphasizes the integration of research and practice, encouraging students to engage in real-world projects to develop strong problem-solving skills.
Beyond the academic world, Dr. Luan's life is enriched by her husband’s talents as a sculptor, adding a creative flair to their home. She’s also been recognized globally, named one of thirty female mentors in STEM by the United Nations in 2022 and speaking at the UN’s Talking Tech event in 2023.
She chose Belmont for its inspiring colleagues and supportive work environment, making it the perfect place to continue her journey as an educator and mentor. She’s excited to contribute to our vibrant community and help students thrive in their academic and professional pursuits.
