Biography
Nicole VanBendegon supports nursing students in strengthening competence in lab, simulation, and clinical courses by helping them connect theory to practice through immersive learning experiences. Nicole’s nursing background includes clinical roles in medical-surgical, labor and delivery, and high-risk obstetrical units, as well as experience as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Maternal-Infant Health. After relocating to Tennessee in 2013, Nicole began her career in nursing education and discovered a passion for simulation-based education. Nicole is a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE). As a member of the Student Success Team, she enhances student learning through Supplemental Learning Experiences and Open Labs—both designed to give students additional opportunities to practice clinical skills, strengthen clinical judgment, and prepare for safe, effective patient care.
