Biography
I am a proud Belmont alum ('08, BS, Biology) and Nashville native. After receiving my PhD from Vanderbilt, I was a postdoctoral fellow at Yale for three years before returning home (to Belmont and Nashville). As a postdoc I explored RNA structure in the Hepatitis C Virus genome, and I'm very excited to get back to the field I studied as a graduate student: how mRNA transcripts export from the nucleus in budding yeast. I'm especially eager to explore scientific research with undergraduates!
