Biography
Shona Hunt is an Interdisciplinary Designer, Artist, and Educator specializing in contextual and sculptural design. She previously taught at Technological University Dublin, where she led courses in Interior Design, Furniture Design, and Visual Merchandising. She holds an M.A. in Contextual Design from Design Academy Eindhoven and a B.A. (Hons) in Interior and Furniture Design from the Dublin School of Creative Arts at Technological University Dublin.
Her visual arts practice explores the interplay between objects and their surroundings, examining how these relationships shape lived experience. Through sculptural frames and structures in rural and urban landscapes, she highlights and magnifies specific elements of place. She describes her approach as multifaceted and hybrid, guided by curiosity and imagination, transforming personal experiences and knowledge into communicative cultural research encapsulated in objects.
