Biography
Ted Peetz is a Professor of Sport Administration and Chair of the Department of Sport Administration at Belmont University. His areas of expertise include celebrity athlete endorsers, sport consumer behavior and fandom. He has presented research at national and international conferences and published numerous scholarly articles on topics related to sports marketing. He has been quoted in various media outlets including ESPN the magazine, USA today, and Sports Business Journal.
As a passionate teacher, he strives to link theory and practice by utilizing the program’s deep network of sport industry professionals and Belmont Sport Administration alumni. He has over 20+ years’ experience in the areas of collegiate coaching, professional sports marketing and non-profit event operations. In 2018, he helped launch Belmont’s undergraduate program in Sport Administration to compliment the master’s degree which started in 2001.
Dr. Peetz is an active member in the North American Society for Sport Management (NASSM), the Applied Sport Management Association (ASMA) and the Sport Marketing Association (SMA). He serves on numerous sport-related boards and is a passionate supporter of the Special Olympics, assisting as a unified sport partner. He was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and is an avid Green Bay Packer fan who enjoys spending time playing golf and exploring Nashville’s music scene with his wife Jamie.
