Biography
Tim Brown is an award-winning composer, producer, and educator at Belmont University, where he specializes in audio engineering and game audio.
Tim studied music management and audio engineering at the University of Colorado Denver. Upon graduating, he began his career under the mentorship of TEC Hall of Fame audio engineer Bill Porter. After several years working alongside Porter, Tim launched his own state-of-the-art recording studio, catering to both advertising and music clients.
Building on his success, Tim transitioned into broadcast television, serving as Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of Creative for a television production company.
As a composer/producer/engineer, Tim’s work has been featured in some of the most prominent broadcasts and productions, including multiple Olympic Games, NFL Football, College Football, Major League Baseball, Finding Carter, A&E Biography, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Fox & Friends, Ghost Adventures, Inside the NBA, NHL Hockey, Street Outlaws, Wicked Tuna, and The Today Show. His music was also part of Super Bowl LVIII, which became the most-watched television event in history.
Tim's compositions/productions are currently featured in over 2,500 broadcast and cable television episodes. He has also composed for major global brands such as McDonald’s, Valvoline, KFC, and Chevron.
In addition to his extensive work in broadcast and advertising, Tim is passionate about video game audio. He earned his Master of Music from Southern Utah University, focusing on game audio. At Belmont University, Tim teaches many of the advanced game audio courses, sharing his expertise with the next generation of creators.
