Biography
Yvette Gonzalez-Nacer brings extraordinary real-world performing experience to Belmont University. A Cuban-American actress, singer, and multi-instrumentalist, she has performed on Broadway, Madison Square Garden, Carnegie Hall, and on some of the most prestigious stages across the world.
Yvette originated the role of Fate in the 8-time Tony Award-winning Broadway musical Hadestown and starred as Satine in the First National Tour of Moulin Rouge! The Musical. Her Broadway credits also include the First National Tour of Lin-Manuel Miranda's In the Heights and the world premiere of Real Women Have Curves at American Repertory Theatre. As series lead Kiki in the Emmy Award-winning The Fresh Beat Band, she earned two Imagen Award nominations for Best Actress in a TV Series. She recently made her West End debut playing the role of Constanze Weber in Mozart: Her Story at Theatre Royal Drury Lane.
On screen, Yvette has appeared in FOX's Grease: Live as Cha Cha DiGregorio, guest-starred on 9-1-1, Madam Secretary, and Criminal Minds, and recently starred in feature films Playing For Mozart and Murder Motel. She has voiced the role of Phyllis on Disney’s Goldie & Bear as well as the role of Kiki on the Nickelodeon animated series The Fresh Beat Band of Spies, earning a nomination for a BTVA Television Voice Acting Award.
As a recording artist and John Lennon Songwriting Contest winner who was signed to BMG Publishing (Topline), Yvette has worked with Jason Mraz, H.E.R., Gloria Estefan, Justin Bieber, All-4-One, Gaby Moreno, Flor de Toloache, Engelbert Humperdinck and Ne-Yo, to name a few. She has written, produced, and orchestrated original music for numerous films including Dan Fogelman's Life Itself, Miss Arizona, and Replica. Her work has also been featured on a number of commercials and hit TV shows. She produced and co-wrote the acclaimed If The Fates Allow: A Hadestown Holiday Album and has released multiple solo records.
Beyond performing, Yvette founded Creative Minds Care, a 501(c)(3) organization using the arts for impact.
