Role of the Provost
As the chief academic and operations officer on campus, the Provost is responsible for overseeing the educational mission of the University. This means that all academic units and much of campus life fall under the Provost’s purview. From academic programs to residence life and co-curricular activities, the Provost provides visionary direction to our twelve colleges, academic support units, student services, campus organizations, activities and residence life. Put simply, the Provost oversees almost every component of the college experience for our students.
Ensuring that students are at the center of all we do requires thoughtful allocation of resources to support student learning, promote quality and effective teaching, ensure strong co-curricular programming and provide an enriching campus experience.
