Forbes Superstar: Alumna Blair Miller Innovates Through Chaos

January 8, 2025 | by Jasmine Simmons

Miller named Forbes 30 under 30 in music, redefining music marketing through Chaos Creators

Blair MillerRecently earning a place among 2025 Forbes 30 Under 30 honorees, alumna Blair Miller (music business ’18) is proving that sometimes the best path forward is through controlled chaos.

Miller is the visionary mind behind Chaos Creators, an innovative entertainment marketing agency that disrupts traditional marketing by developing tailored approaches based on artists' personalities and fan bases.

Instead of looking at a general strategy and trying to apply it to all artists, Chaos Creators builds campaigns with content that is authentic to an artist’s individualized personality.

"Fans are actually connecting with them and falling in love with them as people, not just as artists for their music, and it helps them cut through the noise,” Miller explained. “There are so many artists releasing music and so much competition. We're helping the fans fall in love with the artists as people so they can grow their full brand and their full business."

Laying a Foundation in Music Business

As a classical violin, viola and piano player, the California native came to Belmont knowing that she wanted to work in music — though she was unaware of all the jobs that existed in the industry. Miller dove headfirst into every opportunity available, participating in Service Corps, Bear House Writer Management and gained hands-on management experience by managing a country artist who won the Country Showcase.

Miller took to heart the music business program's emphasis on networking and internships. She has built an impressive professional roster, including stints at Warner Music Nashville, the Country Music Association, Scooter Braun’s SB Projects, Atlantic Records, Crowd Surf, the Recording Academy and Universal Music Group

Beyond the impressive internships and curated experiences available at Belmont, Miller passionately champions what she considers the University's greatest asset: its student body.

“Your most important network is your Belmont community,” she said. “You are around driven people — people that remind you to keep chasing your dreams. It’s that community that's going to help you find your next job, your next client.”

Miller’s career journey highlights how Belmont’s music business program equips students with the necessary skills and opportunities for success from the moment they step on campus.

The Bruin recruiter who gave Miller a campus tour as a prospective student connected her with her first job at Thinkswell upon graduating. That position led to a fateful meeting with Kevin Jonas Sr., father of the Jonas Brothers, who asked her to launch a marketing agency with him just a year later. After serving as the creative director of Jonas Group Media for two and a half years, Miller took her first entrepreneurial leap by founding Chaos Creators Entertainment in 2022.

"The music industry is filled with red tape, but I love being able to cut through that and work with artists, influencers and anyone that's ready to make a shift to make some noise," she said.

Conquering Challenges in Massey’s College of Business

Finding success as a young entrepreneur in the music business has not come without its challenges. Throughout her fast-tracked journey, Miller has fought to overcome an imposter syndrome that tempts her into questioning whether she should be in the room at times.

“Looking at the work I’ve done has helped me overcome that,” she shared. “I have learned through this journey to find pride from within, although it's always great to have external validation. Being a Forbes 30 under 30 honoree is not just an award for me, but for my family, my friends, mentors and everyone that's helped me get here.”

Wanting to fill knowledge gaps as a new entrepreneur in the business world, Miller returned to Belmont in August 2024 to pursue her professional MBA. As a graduate student in Belmont’s top ranked business school, she is taking classroom lessons and applying them in real-time to her business.

"Applied accounting was one of the most important classes I've ever taken," she said. "Money is the driving force of a business, so it is really intriguing and helpful to learn how to analyze your finances and make informed decisions.”

Giving Back & Looking Ahead

Miller's connection to Belmont as an alumna remains strong. She works closely with Belmont graduates in the field and as an employer. She also returns as a guest lecturer in the music business program when she can, sharing her expertise with current students.

“I love being on this campus,” she said. “Belmont is my version of Disneyland!”

Her advice to aspiring music industry professionals? "Build real relationships with the people that you are in class with, that you are in organizations with, because those are the people that you will be working with," she emphasized.

Looking ahead, Miller aims to expand Chaos Creators beyond music, partnering with brands, influencers and diverse creators to produce unconventional campaigns. Being named to Forbes' prestigious 30 Under 30 list in the music category has already begun to open new doors, ensuring the continuation of her remarkable evolution from those first days as a classical musician discovering the world of music business at Belmont.
