Belmont announced the establishment of the Generous Life Course Fund, made possible by a $100,000 commitment from Anchor Investments. This transformational gift will support a new, year-long academic experience blending philanthropy education with hands-on community engagement.
Anchor Investments is a Nashville-based real estate investment company whose mission is to Build America’s Most Generous Real Estate Company. “Our team at Anchor is excited and honored to partner with Belmont to inspire generosity in the next generation of leaders,” said Micah Lacher, President of Anchor. “We look forward to these students learning to steward their time, talents and treasure and to decide the best use of the funds to have an impact in our community.”
Housed within the Global Honors Program and delivered in collaboration with the Belmont Innovation Labs, the Generous Life Course empowers students to explore the principles of generosity while making a tangible impact on the Nashville community and in their own lives.
Throughout the course, students will gain both theoretical and practical knowledge of philanthropy and nonprofit work. They will design grant proposal structures, evaluate real-world funding applications, and ultimately determine how to distribute the $100,000 grant to local nonprofit organizations.
“This gift underscores Belmont’s commitment to cultivating a new generation of servant leaders who are equipped to make a difference,” said Hilary Taft, academic director of Belmont Innovation Labs. “Through this immersive learning experience, students will engage deeply with community-based organizations and learn firsthand the power of generosity to transform lives.”
The Generous Life Course Fund marks an innovative approach to experiential learning and philanthropy education. For more information about Belmont University’s Generous Life Course, please contact innovationlabs@belmont.edu.
