The AWC Family Foundation is based in Nashville, TN and has been active in philanthropy for over twenty-five years. Its mission is “to honor and preserve the values, beliefs, and passions held dear by our Founder, paving the way for future generations to experience an enriched life marked by freedom, opportunity, accomplishment, service, and gratitude.” Primary areas of grantmaking focus are:
- Welfare & Advocacy for Animals
- Conservation of Land, Water, and Wildlife
- Preservation of Our Nation’s Founding Principles, History, Traditions, and Values
- Honoring and Supporting America’s Military Veterans
- Betterment of Our Communities and Fellow Citizens
Among other philanthropic investments at Belmont, including endowed scholarships and capital contributions, the Foundation supports compelling speakers who forward the mission of the university. Recently, the Foundation has hosted Rev. Greg Laurie from the film The Jesus Revolution; Writer and speaker Richard Reeves, who wrote the book Of Boys and Men; Lawyer Kelly Shackelford, who has won nine cases about religious liberty at the Supreme Court; Sociologist Brad Wilcox, who is the Director of the National Marriage Project at the University of Virginia.
