Bryce Sullivan, Ph.D., is Professor of Psychology and Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences at Belmont University. He was appointed Dean in 2008, following seven years as Chair of the Department of Psychology at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. He is currently serving as Interim Chair of the Department of Education in addition to his dean responsibilities.
Dr. Sullivan received his B.S., summa cum laude, from Georgia State University, and his M.A. and Ph.D. from The Ohio State University. His publication record includes 15 peer-reviewed journal articles, 4 book chapters, and 36 conference papers. Dr. Sullivan’s scholarly interests include higher education, clinical psychology, and ethics in psychology. His teaching interests include personality theory and clinical psychology. He is a licensed clinical psychologist (license granted in Illinois), but all of his professional activities are currently devoted to his role as Dean.
At Belmont, Dr. Sullivan’s teaching has included a First Year Seminar classes titled “Christianity and the Life of the Mind,” a class on Exercise and Stress Management, and the Senior Capstone class. He is a licensed clinical psychologist (license granted in Illinois), but all of his current professional activities are devoted to his role as Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences.He is an elder at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Nashville.

Dr. Lauren Lunsford is the Associate Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences and as well as a Professor in the Department of Education. Dr. Lunsford was appointed Associate Dean in 2014 and joined the Belmont faculty in 2006. Her work has centered on preparing teachers to meet the needs of all of their students, particularly in the areas of literacy and technology. At Belmont she has taught a variety of courses in education including Human Development, Secondary Methods, Classroom Management, Secondary Literacy, Technology in the Classroom, and various Reading Specialist courses in the Education Department. Dr. Lunsford publishes and presents widely on the areas of literacy, teacher collaboration, and technology in the classroom.
Before joining the Belmont faculty, Dr. Lunsford served as an assistant professor of special education at San Francisco State University teaching courses on students with reading disabilities and with behavioral problems. She earned her M.Ed. and Ph.D. in Special Education at Vanderbilt University and has worked with students at the elementary, middle and high school level. Dr. Lunsford has taught and consulted in a number of cities including Atlanta, GA; Charleston, SC; Nashville, TN; New York City, NY; Phoenix, AZ; Sacramento, CA; and San Francisco, CA. Her experience across grade levels in varying contexts contributes to her passion to help train teachers to help all students learn.

Nathan G. Webb is an Associate Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences and an Associate Professor of Communication Studies. He received a B.S. from College of the Ozarks, an M.A. from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Ph.D. in Communication Studies from the University of Kansas. Dr. Webb primarily teaches courses related to corporate communications, intercultural communication, and general education. He also regularly teaches in Belmont’s study abroad program in Scandinavia.
Dr. Webb’s research predominantly focuses on teaching and learning. He combines his knowledge and interests in interpersonal and organizational communication to examine how instructor communication behaviors affect student learning. He has presented his research at regional, national, and international conferences, and he has been published in venues such as The Journal of Communication Pedagogy, Teaching and Learning Inquiry, and the Journal of Scholarship of Teaching and Learning. He is an active member of the National Communication Association and the Central States Communication Association.
In addition to his higher education experience, Dr. Webb worked for five years in the non-profit sector. He also has three years of experience as a legal research analyst, in which he focused on for-profit higher education institutions.
In his free time, Dr. Webb spends a lot of time traveling. He has visited six of the seven continents, dozens of countries, and all 50 states. He is also a die-hard St. Louis Cardinals fan and enjoys spending time in the outdoors.

Michael Hudson- Wood came to Belmont in 2013. After receiving her BA (English Literature) and MA (Poetry) from the University of Tennessee, she followed her passion for service and scholarship from Knoxville to Oak Ridge to Nashville. She oversees the Math/Science Center, the Writing Center, and the Language Learning Center.
