About Scholarly Productivity

Welcome! The Office of Medical Education's Scholarly Productivity & Innovation team is your hub for developing the academic and critical thinking skills essential for successful medical scholarship. We provide medical students with structured research opportunities, dedicated mentorship, and expert guidance to build a strong foundation for competitive residency applications and a future of impactful medical practice. For faculty, we help with access to resources and infrastructure for state of the art instrumentation for experimentation, workshops for manuscript and grant writing and networking for collaborations.

What is Scholarly Productivity?

Simply put, scholarly productivity is the process of asking a question, systematically finding an answer, and sharing what you've learned with the wider medical community. While this often includes traditional laboratory research, the concept of scholarship is much broader and encompasses a wide range of activities that demonstrate intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, and a commitment to advancing healthcare.

Student Scholarship

We support medical students with structured research opportunities, mentorship, and guidance to develop their academic and critical thinking skills. Acquiring these skills in a structured setting by dedicated research mentors will build a strong foundation for competitive residency applications and future medical practice.

Faculty Scholarship (Under Development)

At Belmont, we support faculty in developing scholarly products, including research projects, publications, grant applications, and academic seminars. Whether you are just starting or looking to expand your academic contributions, this platform provides the resources and guidance you need.
