Eric Burgett

Biography

Eric Burgett is a native of Latham, IL. He serves as adjunct instructor of piano at Belmont University and is versed in both classical and commercial genres. Burgett received the Master of Music degree (Piano Pedagogy) from Belmont University and the Bachelor of Music degree (Piano Performance) from Millikin University (Decatur, IL). While working towards his graduate degree, Burgett studied with Dr. Kristian Klefstad and completed his graduate lecture-recital and culminating document on the solo piano music of modern composer Lowell Liebermann, focusing on the pedagogical value of his Album for the Young, op. 49. 

Burgett currently serves as a studio accompanist for The School of Nashville Ballet, music director for Glencliff United Methodist Church, accompanist at Belmont University, and adjunct piano instructor for Belmont's pre-college program, Belmont Academy. With a heavy interest in songwriting and performing country music, Burgett maintains an active performance schedule as both a classical performer and country music entertainer. Recently, he was featured in Billboard's "615" Section as an up-and-coming artist, as well as Performer Magazine, discussing "The Art of a Dance Accompanist." Burgett has shared the stage with the following artists, either as a guest or opening act: Phil Vassar, Lee Brice, Rodney Atkins, James Wesley, Jim Brickman, Frankie Ballard, and Charlie Worsham. He is thankful for the opportunities he has been given in the worlds of music education and performance.
