Degree/Training:
BSW from Evangel University
Master’s in Higher Education, Conflict Resolution from Abilene Christian
Master of Social Work, Southeastern University
Years at Belmont/Areas of Responsibility:
I just joined the team in August 2023! My role is to help students see that of all the things you can be alone is not one of them. I primarily work with folks in crisis or those who just need an open door and comfy place to figure things out in the moment. College should be challenging, it should not be overwhelming. If you find yourself needing support please come on by!
Areas of clinical interests:
I love diving into the complexities of adult friendships and how our identity impacts the ways we experience and resolve conflict. I’m a big fan of utilizing body based coping skills and helping humans see how their nervous system might just be doing what it knows to be kind.
Hometown:
I was born and raised in Orlando, Florida and my family now lives in Texas. However, the places that feel most like home are Lakeland, FL and Springfield, MO.
When I’m not working, I enjoy:
I love a good car dance party on drives home. You’ll usually find me at a community center taking art classes, playing bingo or participating in aquatic spin.
Favorite place on or near campus:
I’m sure I’ll learn this soon. Right now, my favorite places are the favorites of others that they are willing to share.
Self-care tip:
Give yourself grace when you’re becoming someone you’ve never been before. The idea of a new beginning can be fun and exciting, maybe even hopeful. At the same time, the thought of being a beginner can be overwhelming and intimidating. College is a time to navigate who you want to be. Along the way there will be a lot not knowing and that’s okay!
