Belmont Baseball Ranks Third Among All Division I Men's Athletic Teams
The Belmont University Athletic Department ranked fourth in the nation in Helper Helper's annual rankings for community impact by NCAA Division I institutions as announced by the organization last week.
For the 2023-24 school year, Belmont student-athletes logged 7,518 hours of community service, which ranked fourth nationally behind Boston College, Louisiana and South Alabama. Belmont was the only Missouri Valley Conference team or Tennessee-based team to earn a spot in the top-25 rankings.
In total, Belmont student-athletes served 26 community organizations for an economic impact calculated by Helper Helper of $239,229.
"How can you not be proud of these amazing student-athletes, coaches and staff and the impact they had on the community this year, locally and globally?" said Ryan Neises, Belmont's director of student-athlete formation. "We obviously don't serve to get recognition, but this ranking is a great indication of our commitment to loving others and being a light in the community."
Several Belmont teams ranked in the top five in their respective sports. The baseball team ranked No. 1 in its sport and No. 3 among all men's teams in Division I.
Other Belmont teams ranked in the top 10 in their sport included:
Softball – second
Men's Cross Country/Track and Field – second
Volleyball – fifth
Women's Cross Country/Track and Field – sixth
