Homecoming 2025 was a beautiful celebration of the legacy and impact Belmont has on its student and alumni community. From campus festivities to pickleball and game-day excitement, the week was filled with energy, connection and the Belmont spirit.
Belmont Faithful Luncheon
The weekend kicked off with gratitude. Belmont faculty and staff were shown appreciation at the Belmont faithful luncheon for their generosity in giving to support the organizations, programs and scholarships.
Build-a-Bruin
It Must Be Homecoming filled the Beaman with energy on Friday as students gathered for free Frothy Monkey coffee, exclusive Homecoming t-shirts and a celebration of the Belmont community. Build-a-Bruin is an annual event where students create their own mini bruin stuffed animals. Students were also able to make a second bruin to donate to charity, continuing a new tradition that started last year. The bears were donated to The Store, a charity that provides free groceries to families in need, allowing students to give back while celebrating Homecoming.
Pickleball Tournament
The FitRec hosted a pickleball tournament upstairs in the Beaman!
Pep Rally and Parade
The Belmont Cheerleading team led the Bruins in a Pep Rally in the Maddox Grand Atrium after student organizations paraded their homecoming floats and costumes. The Russell Hall Residence Life staff won $500 for their parade entry!
Silent Disco
SAPB hosted a silent disco for students in the Beaman lobby!
Basketball Game and Homecoming Court
The men’s basketball team won over Indiana State 77-75 in a close game on Saturday. The homecoming court named two winners who were voted on by the student body, Cora Williams and Sam Sackstein.
Student Organization Tailgate
An array of student organizations were represented in the Bell Tower Patio at the Homecoming Tailgate, featuring games, music, face painting and more.
Residence Hall Dedication
The Belmont community gathered in the Beaman Lobby for a special ceremony dedicating three residence halls in honor of Betty Wiseman, Jack Benz and Fannie Hewlett.
The institution’s newest residence hall — currently under construction and known as Caldwell II — will open in August 2025 as Betty Wiseman Hall in honor of "Belmont Betty" Wiseman, a pioneering force in women's collegiate athletics who founded Belmont's Women's Basketball program in 1968. In addition to Wiseman Hall, Tall Hall will be renamed Jack Benz Hall, recognizing 1955 Belmont College graduate Jack Benz, whose dedication to the University spans seven decades.
Caldwell I will become Fannie Hewlett Hall in honor of Dr. Fannie Hewlett, Belmont College's first African American graduate who earned her Bachelor of Science in psychology and English in 1970.
Homecoming festivities concluded with a Celebration at Chago’s Cantina after a victorious game against Indiana State Saturday night.
