The goal of the program is to give participants real, hands-on experience in various facets of higher education; therefore, a Fellow should be utilized as any other full-time staff member. Providing constructive feedback and encouraging self- or leading guided reflection while not required, both contribute to the learning and development aspect of the program as well.
The Presidential Fellowship is open to a diverse range of projects, with no specific task type required. Projects that align with an individual Fellow’s interests or allow the Fellow to take ownership of a particular component are great. If you are uncertain whether a project aligns with the Fellowship’s goals, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Libby Godo for further clarification.
There are several factors that determine how a Fellow is selected for a certain project. Most commonly the capacity of each Fellow is taken into consideration, as well as their interest in the project’s content. If a certain project clearly aligns with the professional goals of a particular Fellow over others, they will typically be offered the assignment first as well.
