Join a transformative journey of leadership, purpose, and impact at Belmont.
The Presidential Fellowship is an experiential learning program in which recent Belmont University graduates are given the opportunity to develop as young professionals for up to two years in a compensated, full-time staff position. Contributing their unique perspective, Fellows engage in project-based work, event support and coordination, and various strategic initiatives in collaboration with diverse campus leadership.
As highly professional representatives of the Office of the President, the Presidential Fellows play an integral role in the ecosystem of Belmont University. While gaining invaluable hands-on experience in higher education administration, Fellows support the President and First Lady, act as connective tissue between campus units, and drive Presidential and university-wide initiatives forward.
The Fellows report directly to Libby Godo, the Manager of Special Projects and Events for the Office of the President. The second-year Fellow oversees the day-to-day activities of the newly hired Fellows, guiding them through their onboarding and providing continual support as they progress. The Fellows are mentored by Dr. Susan West, Executive Vice President for Administration & Chief of Staff, who supports leadership development through the duration of the Fellowship.

The intent of the program is to equip Fellows with:
- Honed leadership skills
- A deeper understanding of their career aspirations
- A broad network of connections
- Distinct professional experience in higher education
- A foundation of excellence in character, leadership, and work ethic

Typical Areas of Involvement:
- University-wide events such as Hope Summit, Reunion Weekend, and Parent & Family Weekend
- Internal leadership meetings such as Board of Trust and Key Leaders meetings
- Strategic Pathway initiatives
- VIP guest hospitality
- Partnership with diverse units on campus in various capacities

For Campus Partners
Presidential Fellows collaborate with campus partners to support key initiatives and bring fresh perspectives to their work. With a strong foundation in leadership, professionalism, and Belmont’s mission, Fellows contribute innovative ideas and solutions, helping campus partners achieve their goals while fostering a culture of purpose and growth across the university.
