Third-Party Billing

Belmont University will bill a Third Party (organization i.e. outside agency, corporation or State Prepaid Plan) requiring a separate invoice that agrees to pay directly to Belmont all or part of your tuition and fees. 

To take advantage of this service,

1. Students must provide written authorization from the Third Party payer providing details of the Third Party benefit
2. Complete the one-time student Third-Party contract Application form. 

Once the organization's authorization is received and student contract is completed, a credit with the description “Third Party Billing” will be applied to the student’s account. An invoice for this amount will be sent to the organization after the close of the add/drop period of each semester. The organization's authorization must also state that Belmont University will be paid directly. Tuition reimbursement or 529 Plans are not considered third party billing, since these benefits are generally either grade dependent and/or paid directly to the student. Third Party Billing detailed steps below. 

1) The Third Party Authorization letter must be printed on company letterhead and contain the following:

• Name of the student
• Student’s Belmont ID number (BUID)
• Beginning and end date of sponsorship 
• Type of fees covered (tuition, mandatory fees, housing, dining, etc.)
• Amount to be invoiced
• Sponsor’s billing address 
• Signature of authorized official

2) The one-time Student Third Party Contract Application form must be completed before credit is applied to student's account.

Foreign Governments, State Prepaid Tuition Plans, ROTC programs, State Vocational Rehabilitation Benefits, University Tuition Benefit Programs, General Motors Corporation, Verizon, AT&T, Ford Motor Company.

Important Disclaimer: If, for any reason, the organization does not pay the invoice, the student will be responsible for all charges due to Belmont University by the due date or immediately upon request.  Future third party credits will not be allowed until current sponsorships are paid in full.
