Music and sport collide. Audio Engineering lecturers Jason Garner and Tim Brown have collaborated to compose music for several music publishers, some of which were played during last weekend’s Super Bowl LVIII game and pre-game broadcast.
According to USA Today, "The Kansas City Chiefs' dramatic overtime victory over the San Francisco 49ers was the most-watched television event in history, according to preliminary television ratings released Monday. The Chiefs and 49ers reached an estimated 123.4 million average viewers on CBS's broadcast of Super Bowl 58 on Sunday night."
In addition to the duo’s Super Bowl placement, others include:
- NFL on CBS: Multiple tracks used in the 2024 AFC Division Playoff Game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Buffalo Bills, along with the AFC Championship game between the Chiefs and the Baltimore Ravens — the most-watched AFC Championship ever with an average of 55.47 million viewers.
- SEC Football on CBS: Their song, “Welcome to the Country” played as the opening hype song during the Alabama v. Texas A&M broadcast, Oct. 7 and the Georgia v. Florida broadcast, Oct. 28.
- Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl: Their song “Hotter than the Texas Sun” was used during the broadcast and as the opening hype song for Oregon State v. Notre Dame, Dec. 29.
