Benjy Davies is joining Watkins College at Belmont University after serving as a Professor of Art at the University of Rio Grande in Rio Grande OH and as an Associate Dean at Pikes Peak State College in Colorado Springs, CO. His work includes drawing, painting and printmaking, and has been included in over 300 exhibitions nationally and internationally. The work in this show is an exploration of various approaches artists can use to depict reality in a two-dimensional space, ranging from photo-realism to blind contour drawing, abstraction, non-objectivism and automatic drawing. This work is influenced by both mechanical and biological systems and the act of drawing as a spiritual or meditative practice.
