Students participating in a special event group fitness workout. Group Fitness classes are a great way for participants to build new relationships in a positive and encouraging environment while getting a great workout! If the thought of going to the weight room is intimidating, check out our group fitness classes. Many people begin their fitness journey in group fitness because you can tailor the workout intensity to what you want it to be and the community in the classes is so supportive!

Spring 2026 Group Fitness Schedule

Group Fitness Guidelines 

Check-In & Registration

    1. All participants must check in with a FitRec staff member before attending class. To secure a guaranteed spot, patrons are encouraged to pre-register through FitRec Connect or the FitRec On The Go app. Registration opens 72 hours (3 days) prior to each class.

    2. Attendance & Waitlist Policy
      Participants who have pre-registered but do not arrive by the scheduled class start time—and have not notified FitRec staff of a late arrival—will forfeit their spot. The opening will be offered to the next person on the waitlist.

      * To help maintain class flow and safety, patrons are strongly encouraged to arrive on time to allow for a proper warm‑up.

    3. Class Etiquette & Conduct
      Group fitness classes are shared experiences. Please follow all instructor directions, remain respectful of fellow participants, and help maintain a positive and inclusive environment.

    4. Health & Safety Recommendations
      A physician’s clearance is recommended before beginning any new exercise program, especially for individuals with existing medical conditions or concerns.

    5. Hydration & Self‑Monitoring
      Participants are encouraged to bring water and monitor their own exertion levels throughout class. Take water and rest breaks as needed to ensure a safe and enjoyable workout.


 Registering for Group Fitness Classes Via FitRec Connect

  1. Follow the link to connect you to the online portal, FitRec Connect: https://fitrecconnect.belmont.edu/
  2. Select “Sign In”. Select “MyBelmont Login” to the right if you are a student, faculty or staff member. For all other users and follow prompts. Choose “Use My Local Account” if you do not have a BUID.
  3. If you selected “Use My Local Account” this will prompt you to use “Already Have an Account?” Your username will be “first.last”. For example, susie.jean and your password will be 1900Belmont and after you login, it will prompt you to create a password of your own!
  4. Once you are logged in, click the group fitness icon in the middle of the page.

Available Group Fitness Classes

If you want a low impact strength workout that can enhance muscle tone, posture, flexibility, and confidence, then this format is for you. Barre blends a variety of movements from ballet, dance, functional strength, and mind-body. Come check it out!

Strength training classes will challenge all of your major muscle groups allowing participants to build strength, develop endurance, and see just how hard they can work. Designed for all fitness levels, these classes will leave you feeling stronger and more confident in your workouts and in yourself!

This high energy class will combine the best of both worlds with an enthusiastic cycle ride, followed by strength and endurance exercises. Join in on the fun with some friends and try out this 50- minute killer workout!

Don’t have a bike but love to ride? No worries we got you covered. Get your adrenaline going with some speed and resistance training by climbing hills, pushing through some killer sprints, while also jamming out to some upbeat hits.
