Instructions on how to submit your seat deposit will be sent to your email 1-2 business days after receiving your notice of admission. Once you receive this email, you will complete the following steps:

• Create a BU4U account
• Reply to your offer
• Pay your non-refundable enrollment deposit.

All Belmont University Students are required to comply with University Health & Immunization requirements that can be found on the Belmont Health Services page. Students may upload required documents through the Belmont Health Portal.

Belmont requires graduate students to demonstrate proof of health insurance as part of the enrollment process. For students who do not have insurance, they are required to purchase a plan provided by our partner at UHC. All graduate students must either opt in or waive the insurance policy  here.  For more information contact Roslian.Humphrey@belmont.edu

Law students may apply for Federal Loans (Direct and Direct PLUS). A maximum of $20,500 is available in Direct loans, and students may fund the remaining cost of attendance with Direct PLUS loans.

Federal Student Aid for Law School: Steps to Take 

1. Fill out the FAFSA as soon as possible. Submitting your FAFSA in a timely manner allows you to learn about any Direct Unsubsidized Loans you have qualified for.  
2. If you are a graduate or professional student, you can borrow up to $20,500 each year in Direct Unsubsidized Loans. Learn more. 
3. Be sure that you also apply for a Direct PLUS Loan if you will need to borrow more than $20,500 annually.   
4. Completing your Direct Plus Loan Application is a separate step, in addition to completing your FAFSA.

Log into your MyBelmont account to accept your loan.

For Grad PLUS Loans, be sure you have completed the:

• Grad PLUS credit history check - authorization (this is a checkbox in the Federal Direct PLUS Loan Request for Supplemental Information online form)

• Grad PLUS Master Promissory Note (MPN)
• Graduate Loan Entrance Counseling
  • If you are completing entrance counseling to borrow a loan as a graduate or professional student, the entrance counseling will fulfill counseling requirements for Direct Unsubsidized Loans and Direct PLUS Loans.

Please note that Direct Unsubsidized Loans and Direct PLUS Loans have different MPNs. The MPN for each type of loan, and Entrance counseling, must be completed before the loan will disburse to your student account.

If you selected “Loan Amount Unknown” in your Grad PLUS loan application, it is your responsibility to contact Belmont Student Financial Services to let them know the amount you want to borrow. If this step is omitted, the loan will not process.

Log into your MyBelmont account. 

• Click Launchpad on the left-hand side of the screen, and select Banner Web 

• Select the Student Services and Financial Aid tab

• Select the Financial Aid tab

• Select the Award Information tab

• Select Award by Aid Year

• From the drop down box, select 2023–24 Aid Year

• Click the submit button

Did you remember to complete a Grad PLUS credit application? You must apply separately for a Direct PLUS Loan if you will need to borrow more than $20,500 annually. This process is in addition to completing your FAFSA.

Q: My scholarship letter says I must remain in "good standing" in order to retain my scholarship. What does that mean?
A: Please see the Student Handbook for information on good standing.

Applicants are also encouraged to explore our list of outside scholarship opportunities. Although not exhaustive, a list is also available through the Law School Admission Council.

While it is not a scholarship program, the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program may be a good option for you. The PSLF Program forgives the remaining balance on your Direct Loans after you have made 120 qualifying monthly payments under a qualifying repayment plan while working full-time for a qualifying employer. Your bank or loan carrier may ask you for an enrollment verification. Belmont University has authorized the National Student Clearinghouse (NSC) to provide enrollment verifications. Follow these steps on the Registrar website

Choosing a laptop for your use in law school is at your discretion. Please know that Belmont Law uses Exam4 for final exams. You will want your device to be compatible with and supported by Exam4. Here is a listing of supported operating systems: https://www.exam4.com/support/article/1 

There are two charging stations on level 6 of the Curb Garage, and two on level 1 of the Inman/McWhorter garage, right across from the elevators near the garage entrance. The Inman/McWhorter garage is closest to the law building, but both garages are within a 5 minute walk of our building.

The chargers are free to use, but users will need an active Blink charging card. The card is free - just go to the Blink website to register, and they will send the card in the mail.
