Colleges of Distinction, a trusted resource connecting high school students with the best universities for their needs, recently named Belmont University as one of the Best Christian Colleges in the United States.
“Belmont is deeply honored to be recognized for our innovative education and Christ-centered mission by Colleges of Distinction,” said Vice President for Faith-Based Engagement & Church Relations Todd Lake. “We will continue our work towards becoming the model for whole-person formation as we teach and develop people of character, purpose, wisdom and a transformational mindset.”
Colleges of Distinction's selection process involves comprehensive research and detailed interviews, recognizing institutions that excel in four critical areas: engaged students, exceptional teaching, vibrant community life and successful student outcomes.
Colleges of Distinction qualifications require universities to demonstrate successful use of High-Impact Practices (HIPs) – hands-on experiences that allow undergraduates to expand their reach beyond degree requirements. HIPs include classes like first-year seminars and capstone courses, intercultural education like diversity and global learning and professional development opportunities like undergraduate research and internships.
Belmont’s Christ-centered, student-focused mission allows students to develop spiritually while finding connections both in and out of the classroom –– building relationships with peers, faculty and in the broader community –– earning the university a number of awards in recent years. Victories include the Fisher Center being named Education Venue of the Year by Meeting Planners International, the College of Music & Performing Arts ranking among the Hollywood Reporter’s top music schools in the world and the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge’s Most Engaged Campus for Student Voting during the 2024 election.
Through connecting with students both in and out of the classroom and building relationships in the broader community, Belmont’s Christ-centered mission has again put it with the best of the best.
