Accreditation Timeline

Belmont University is currently seeking programmatic accreditation to award the MD degree through the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME). The Frist College of Medicine at Belmont University has earned "Candidate Status" from the LCME, which is the next step in the College's accreditation process and comes with a site visit from the LCME.

Following the site visit, the LCME will review the survey team's report, the DCI and the self-study. If they determine that sufficient progress has been made towards compliance with the standards, and satisfactory planning for the educational program has occurred, the College will be awarded Preliminary Accreditation. When Preliminary Accreditation is received, the College will begin accepting applications for admission; no applications will be accepted or reviewed until that time.
